organization’s product is the skills development, and not the crafted items produced by the participants.

Analysis and conclusion:3 D- z, i: z7 W" x" g' h3 K
In this example the simple measuring devices that have been mentioned (rules, spirit-levels and plumb0 @5 A. W) f9 T% N% W
lines) are a diversion and are not the correct items to be focusing on when considering the exclusion of
2 a1 z4 s `; q3 E% r7 T- M- tsub-clause 7.6. Instead, it is the training that is the product being delivered and to which attention should
% a5 f- ~2 T: P( P1 Sbe given. The organization should be controlling the monitoring and measuring devices that are needed7 S" O1 W/ w% P2 s7 B0 N
to provide evidence of the conformity of the product (training/education) to requirements, e.g. tests and3 I; C% U8 q! z* U
student satisfaction surveys, reports related to students finding jobs, etc. (In this instance, the necessary
9 K4 Y9 K( a. |/ Z F/ P/ |control may be demonstrated through verification or validation of the measuring and monitoring devices,/ i( Z* p: d S; Y3 `
e.g. though pilot testing of the survey questionnaires).
* S3 M) @7 x* `8 H4 \The organization may be able to justify the exclusion of those requirements in the sub-clause that
( ^$ n" N# b! ], q* x6 {specifically relate to the calibration of measuring equipment [in 7.6 bullets (a) to (e)], if it decides that the
" y+ f" F9 T# H2 T( P5 k/ ]simple measuring equipment does not need to be calibrated. It may however be necessary for the
- s2 M! m4 m+ q' M- j, Y8 morganization to provide the students with training in checking the accuracy of their equipment (rules, sprit& S5 R' h8 D+ a
levels etc.), in which case even these requirements could not be excluded.
