In this example the simple measuring devices that have been mentioned (rules, spirit-levels and plumb
. n+ z* V& R" W+ u. c- Klines) are a diversion and are not the correct items to be focusing on when considering the exclusion of
7 s) L! ~1 x% ~5 h* b7 Q$ v% tsub-clause 7.6. Instead, it is the training that is the product being delivered and to which attention should! p( P# E; @: A6 A/ s
be given. The organization should be controlling the monitoring and measuring devices that are needed
! z& O8 G" i) X4 L/ U! rto provide evidence of the conformity of the product (training/education) to requirements, e.g. tests and4 \( H# n+ Q" f% V7 b8 p9 Z. W
student satisfaction surveys, reports related to students finding jobs, etc. (In this instance, the necessary
, \( G, A- v% E0 t0 wcontrol may be demonstrated through verification or validation of the measuring and monitoring devices,
" Y* R- T+ e6 w% B+ G# M' Y7 He.g. though pilot testing of the survey questionnaires).! O7 C0 w/ S8 [8 N9 u
The organization may be able to justify the exclusion of those requirements in the sub-clause that1 r0 |' ?( v. |6 S% ] `- m( v
specifically relate to the calibration of measuring equipment [in 7.6 bullets (a) to (e)], if it decides that the/ ^/ o/ F6 v: |9 S1 h1 `$ h
simple measuring equipment does not need to be calibrated. It may however be necessary for the; C, j2 M3 ] K! u! Z$ i. ]
organization to provide the students with training in checking the accuracy of their equipment (rules, sprit, ^+ g, _ D* v' B
levels etc.), in which case even these requirements could not be excluded., B8 n& r; ?- I ]0 A$ R, S9 @
In conclusion, sub-clause 7.6 could not be excluded in its entirety, only in part. |
